The Amsterdam American Hotel was built in 1900 and is officially listed as a monument. The typical Art-Deco features can be found in our recently renovated hotel rooms and in our beautiful Café Americain. The hotel is situated on the Leidsesquare, close to the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and beautiful Vondelpark. Some of Amsterdam’s best and most popular restaurants, bars and cafes are nearby, plus the shopping areas Leidsestraat and Negen Straatjes (nine little streets). The hotel is also close to the business districts. Constructed in 1900, the building, a listed Art Nouveau monument since 1972, has 175 chic, modern guestrooms, Bar Americain and an elegant restaurant, Café Americain.
